lucky oreo balls

While surfing through my blog, The Son saw these oreo truffles and requested that I make them again. It's been two years since we last had them— I don't know why I haven't revisited the recipe, as they are super easy to throw together, requiring only three ingredients, four if you count sprinkles.

I didn't read my instructions and so for the first round, I jabbed the balls with chopsticks to retrieve them out of the melted candy coating. I think they work better than toothpicks. Lollipop sticks might be good to use as well.

The fun thing with this treat is that you can customize it for whatever occasion. Since Saint Patrick's Day is coming up, green is the color de rigueur.

Hope you have a Happy Saint Patrick's Day. We are celebrating with these Lucky Oreo Balls (recipe found here) and our once-a-year meal of corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. What are you plans?

  5. We've been making the oreo truffles since you first posted them - love that they're so simple and no baking needed. We stick a lollipop stick in them and call them cake pops.
