Aren't these the most adorable Thanksgiving treats? Don't they bring a smile when you see it? Turkey on the right is checking out turkey on the left's cold feet. (We ran out of yellow...)
They make a wonderful addition to the Thanksgiving place setting, or as The Daughter plans, a goodie to hand out to her team's last practice. This is our first year to try it them, and I'm pretty sure they're going to become a tradition.
The turkeys involve just a few ingredients, and possibly stuff you already have around from
the kids' post-Halloween stash.
Insert candy corn into oreo cream center. You can use frosting to help keep the candy corn secure, but I found the oreos that had the cream almost spilling out on one side, so they snuggled in nicely.
Use 5 candy corn for the feathers.
I used chocolate bark for my "glue". One square is plenty. You can also use frosting.
First, dip the feathered oreos into the chocolate, then set atop another oreo.
It helps to lean them up against the wall while the chocolate hardens.
Prep the Rolo by slicing off a sliver (or Reese's Peanut butter cup,
but there are nut allergies in my extended family) to create a flat surface.
First, gently flip the Oreos over so that the feathers are at the base.
Then dip the cut end of the Rolo into the melted chocolate and place them on the Oreos.
For the head, dip the Whopper into the melted chocolate and set it next to the Rolo.
Try to have enough chocolate to adhere the Whopper to both the Rolo and the Oreo.
Let the chocolate/frosting harden.
Let the chocolate/frosting harden.
For the beaks, gently cut off the white tips of candy corn.
Dip the cut end into chocolate, and set on top the Whopper.
Let harden.
For the eyes, use the icing writer and dot the eyes on. Add the black sprinkles as you go.
I felt like I was perform micro-surgery, you're dealing with such a tiny thing!
But they all eventually landed where they needed to. Having a toothpick nearby helps.
Use the icing writer for the feet.
Use red icing writing to make the snood.
Again, the toothpick came in handy here to cut the icing off from icing tip.
Sit back and enjoy the brood of turkeys before they get gobbled up!

Oreo Cookies- I used Halloween ones with orange creme, if not available, go for the double stuff, as it holds the candy corn feathers better.
Candy Corn
Whoppers
Peanut Butter Cups or Rolos
Chocolate frosting
Yellow icing writer
Optional: red icing for snood, black sprinkles for eyes
