bunny cupcakes

Today, The SIL and Cousins are over for some bunny-cupcake-making fun times. It definitely is a Good Friday with Family.

We baked some yellow cupcakes and went to town with marshmallows and various candies. What started out as what-would-be-bunnies morphed into a menagerie of assorted marshmallow creatures:

Unicorn

Monkey with banana

Rocker with faux-hawk

Bunny a la Arthur

Chickadee in nest

Owl

Minimalist Bunny

Happy Cousins

BUNNY CUPCAKES

frosted cupcakes
shredded coconut, if you want a furry face
marshmallows
various colored sugars
chocolate chips
mini marshmallows
nerds
jelly beans
Starburst candies

To make ears:

Take the marshmallow, cut it widthwise, and pinch it slightly at ends to created an oval ear. Dip the cut side in the sprinkling sugar.

To make whiskers:

Microwave Starburst candy for 11 seconds. On parchment paper, use a rolling pin and roll out the candy until flat. Using kitchen shears, cut into desired whisker lengths.
